| About the International Yak Association |
|
The International Yak Association (IYAK) and the North American Yak Registry (NAYR) were formally organized in 1992 and are dedicated to the advancement of yak breeding. IYAK was incorporated under the State of Oregon in 1995 and is a 501 (c) (5) corporation.
The first Certificate of Registration in the National Association of Yak Registry (NAYR) was issued in 1992 with the designated number of C001. There are now more than 650 registered yaks in the US and Canada and their lineages are being tracked at the NAYR office. Photos must accompany each registration for yak identification and proof of percentage yak. Crossbreds may also be registered under a separate designation.

| If you are interested in becoming a member of IYAK or would like to register your animals in the NAYR, please contact Cynthia Huber at 719-942-4181 or ckhdcr@aol.com. |
